<em> Said Walter White: "Chemistry is the study of changes in matter."</em> Everything is constantly changing, <em>although</em> <em>we may not notice</em> it. Many reactions occur in our <em>bodies,</em> <em>allowing</em> us <em>to do</em> daily activities. Almost everything <em>that</em> we use <em>requires</em> a chemical process, <em>although</em> some things only need a physical process such a distillation <em>and</em> evaporation. Chemistry
As Walter White said, chemistry studies changes of matter. Everything is constantly changing, even though often we cannot notice it. The paint on the walls is falling off, and iron slowly oxidizes* to iron oxide. When open a soda, the carbonic acid turns into carbon dioxide and water almost instantly. Many reactions occur in our bodies constantly, allowing us to do our daily activities. Most changes we se involve a chemical process, although some things are only physical processes, such as distillation and evaporation, among others.
The alcohol that we consume, the soap that we clean up with, the ink that we write with, all of these require at least a reaction. **
Without chemistry we could not even consume drinking water. Chemistry is essential in our lives. Of course, knowledge of physics, biology and math is important too.
That's why I like chemistry and science in general.
