10/29/2014 Once upon a time, there was an Indian Bodhisattva by the name of Bodhidharma. He went to China to teach Buddhism in the 6th Century B.C. Monks often grew impatient and fell asleep during the meditation. Leading by example, Bodhidharma began his nine-year meditation in front of an entrance of a cave. Accidentally he himself also had fallen asleep during the meditation. After woke up, he was angry with himself. He sliced his eyelids and threw them onto the ground. The place where he discarded his eyelids grew a tea tree. And thereafter, tea has become an important companion in meditation. It not only keeps the monks awake, it also provides shade to them during their meditation.
