Wintertime and memories

Now, we have a season that I don’t like so much. Actually, I like to spend my free time outside, working in my flower garden, riding my bike or walking through the forrest. All these things I can’t do in the winter because it’s always cold and wet at this season. While I’m sitting in my living room and waiting for better weather, I watch look at my pictures[photos] and remember my last vacations[holiday]. [or "I look at my holiday photos when the weather was better."]

It means a lot to me to visit other countries or to travel around Germany when I’m on vacation[holiday]. There was a time, many years ago, it wasn’t permitted to for us to travel the world. It was only allowed to travel a few East European countries. Of course, I would had loved to visit those countries, but it was too expensive; only a few people could afford to travel at that time.

So I’m happy that I am free since for the last 25 years and I am have been able to decide where I want to go. There are so many places at in this world that I would like to see. So we try to travel every year for two or three weeks.

I couldn't agree more, Gabi. I was allowed to travel, but my first trip out of the country was a working trip for my employer. I've been trying to catch up ever since I got hooked on travel. I have some photos of very nice locations to help me get through the winter. Even photos of winter trips!

I didn't get to what was East Germany before the wall came down, but did get there soon after, before the roads were remade.

I like to spend my free time outside, working in my flower garden, riding my bike or walking through the <em>forest</em>. <em>I can't do </em><em>all these things</em> (Do you mean that you can't do <em>any of these</em> <em>things</em>?) in the winter because it’s always cold and wet during this season. It means <em>a lot</em> to me to visit other countries or to travel around Germany when I’m on vacation (I think this would be right, but it would probably sound better if you said <em>for vacation</em>). There was a time many years ago <em>when we weren’t permitted</em> to travel the world. <em>We were</em> only allowed to travel a few <em>Eastern</em> European countries. Of course, I would <em>have</em> loved to visit those countries, but it was too expensive; only a few people (or just <em>few people</em>) could afford to travel at that time.

So I’m happy that I <em>have been free for</em> 25 years and I (you can take out <em>I </em>here if you want) am able to decide where I want to go. There are so many places <em>in</em> this world that I would like to see. So we try to travel every year for two or three weeks.
