Day:1 Language: Italian Objective: Review of Ch. 1-6 introductory material I have already begun my self-study , and I have ran into a snare: the cursed pronunciation of gli and the tricky k and ch sounds. The materials I am using to learn this romantic operatic language are " No Nonsense Knowledge Italian" By Cristina Mazzoni, "E-Z Italian" by Marcel Danesi, and "Better Reading Italian" by Daniela Gobetti. The first two resource I use for grammar and a steady learning structure. The last one is my Italian beginner reading material. The only thing lacking from my resource is audio. However, I substituent this will YouTube videos. "No Nonesense" is a bit easier than "E-Z" for me. However, so far so good. Let's try some writing. Buon Natale! Mi chiamo GM. Sono di Miami. Lavoro a in una università. Sono una insegnante. Abito sola. Ho 26 anni. Ora studio italiano al mio computer e ascolto di musica. Abito vicino un parco e cammino ogni giorno. Ho bisogno di un CD italiano. I am currently on Capitolo Sette in "No Nonsense". I try to read the words out loud to help with pronounciation practice; however, it is exhausting to make my mouth form the words. I think if I keep doing it, I will eventually become used to it. I would help if I had someone to right if I am saying things correctly or not. I don't trust my judgment. Pg. 55 is about creating adverbs in Italian. This is easy considering my Spanish background. However, I am not sure about adjectives ending in il vs al. For example, difficile becomes difficilmente? drop the e? The book is unclear on this point for me. I will finish this chapter and chapter 8 from this book. Then do one or two chapters form E-Z.
