Do you agree with him? Last week I went to Canton (Guangzhou), my father and the taxi driver were chatting about many topics including CCP. The driver sighed, “Who like the communist party? I also hate the communist party! In all those democratic countries around the world, the government tends to return the wealth to the people. However, we are the opposite! Our government takes our people’s properties away. The government is rich but the people is poor! I think that Chinese are always the most miserable in the world. People should go abroad as much as possible.” He sounded very sonorous and forceful. His Cantonese speaking mingled many foul languages among each sentence and I am trying to translate and decorate it into tidy English. Then my father replied, “Wow, you have seen everything through.” I am quite impressed by what the driver said and I still remember the foul languages he used because there is a bit difference between the Canton’s and the Hong Kong’s. Anyway, it is just a slight digression. I am glad to meet the driver. It is interesting. That’s all I would like to share. Do you agree or disagree with what the taxi driver said? You are welcome to leave any comments here. Thank you.

I've always hear taxi driver in China curse about government. I remember last time when I visited China, my chauffeur was angry about government spend money to get rid of the ancient road signal and replaced them with advanced signals. To him, it was pure waste of money and energy. He didn't understand that this public infrastructure change can help to decrease traffic time and increase the road safety. In his mind, he wanted government to give him more money/opportunity instead of this "public welfare". People would be much happier when they get tangible and short-term benefits, and the numerous money government spend seemed has nothing to do with them. It is very easy to ignore the intangible benefits such as road, bridges, securities that government provided. However, if you talk to different class in China, you will get different opinions. People gained wealth and power from this social machanism would give you complete different point of views. And their opinions should be put into count, as well. I believe most of their angry come with large gap between rich and poor in China. China should have better finance stimulation plan and allocate more government's funds to close this gap. It needs to focus more on domestic issue instead of tackling on how would western world would view it. (Ex: APEC blue)

You say the government corruption, all exist in most of the countries and regions, may be just a difference in degree, perhaps in order to balance of forces in the country often leaders will open one eye, close one eye. I used to think that there is no way to eliminate, and this was very disappointed, but since President Xi Jinping after taking office, I again hope, because he really is a rare good leadership. There is an old saying in China:水至清则无鱼.Probably only explained this way.I don't say much controversial words, because each person's views have his reason, thank you!

I do understand. In my option, the idea of communism is not evil but the rulers are evil. The communism requires a strong sense of self-discipline but the human nature is greedy and selfish. Practically, it is impossible to develop a communist society.

Have you ever read the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell or at least the animated movie? I ever watched the movie (not yet read the novel) and I think it gives us a true and fair view of the communist society. At first, perhaps the purpose of the communism is good, everybody must be equal in society. But gradually, the government officials take advantages of their power and position to earn benefits for their own. New rules, regulations or even laws will be issued to facilitate their work and strengthen their position and power as well. A new leader means a new law or at least an amendment to prevailing law. It's so sad to admit this fact. :) Anyway, this is the youtube link for you to watch the movie. I believe that you will like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-dC83nyCJg
