Questions to speakers of Portuguese and English

When I read a text...I make translate to Portuguese.
Its correct Is that good? Or must I try to understand in English?!

Be careful about caps when talking about languages. About the translation thing, at the beginning it's quite normal, you will learn to think in English when you get better.
