Does the English language need to be simpler? Learning any foreign language is quite difficult, but if to speak about English i can not say it is a language that needs to be simplier. The structure of English language is very rational, logical and it is represented in a big amount of books. So if you learn English you just have to work hard and find appropriate resources for your language practice. If to speak about other languages, i can say that having an experience of learning Arabic and Hebrew for 5 years and Chinese for less then a year gives me a reason to say that these languages have really complicated grammar and it takes much time to get aquinted even with their basics. Also structures of oriental languages are based on their specific logics and traditions, which are to be learned as well as the languages themselves.

Learning any foreign language is quite difficult, but if we were to speak about English, I can not say it is a language that needs to be simpler. The structure of English language is very rational, logical and it is represented in a many books. So if you learn English you just have to work hard and find appropriate resources for your language practice.

If we were to speak about other languages, I can say that, having experience of learning Arabic and Hebrew for 5 years and Chinese for less then a year, it gives me reason to say that these languages have really complicated grammar and it takes a lot of time to get aquainted even with their basics. Also the structures of oriental languages are based on their specific logic and traditions, which are to be learned as well as the languages themselves.

Interesting article about learning languages Alina. Some people do find English difficult to learn as it has evolved over the years and is still evolving although the basic grammar structures have been in existence for many years. If you have a knowledge of one of the latin languages, then this will help you with other latin based languages, similarly with Slavic languages. The biggest problem most people find with languages like Hebrew and Chinese (and sometimes Russian!) is the different alphabet. Once this is learned it is probably not so scary.
