" The world is full of nice people. If you can't find one, be one!"
I have tried to find sb to help me practice speaking English for years, but I haven't found that person yet. I wondered why nobody offered to help. I still remember when I was in college, my major was English. I had some friends who came from poor countrysides and they were very bad at English. They were miserable with that subject, they always got bad marks. They looked extremely upset. And at that time, Looking at their faces, I thought I had to do sth to help them. Although my English was not very good, I tried my best to help them practice everyday. They gradually improved their English. They got better marks at school. They looked happier, and I was happy too. But one day, I needed some help with French and one of those friends were very good at it. I needed her help but she tried to ignore me because she was afraid that my marks could be higher than her. And I realized that although the world was full of nice people, it was hard to find one. But I also know that " The world is full of nice people. If you can't find one, be one!"

People are always selfish :) But yes, u can be a nice one and the point is u feel good when u have the chance to help the people around u; enjoy that moment :) and for your situation of practicing English, i think that it is not just because nobody want to help, just u haven't found out the suitable one. I have a lot of friends in my Skype to practice and they are willing to help, but I can't find the topics to talk with them and we only can talk for a while (not feel bored but feel hesitate to talk more) , so just try more to find your right partners. First, they must be nice to help you, second is that you and they feel good talking with each other. Somehow I think it is like fate.

That is a bit sad. I would like to think that usually if you help a person, then they should help you when you need them. But maybe that is not always the case.
