Eating a balanced diet is the most important factor for a healthy life. To what extent do you agree? It is commonly believed that balanced diet plays an important role in making good health but along with it, there are other things which are necessary to make complete healthy life. Our body needs different kinds of nutrients to function properly and these all nutrients we can get by having balanced diet. People who eat balanced diet are healthier and live longer. For instance, the foods that Japanese people consume are regarded as balanced diet as a result they are usually healthy with enhanced longevity. In addition to that absence of any nutrients in the food can cause disease. If our body gets deprived from vitamin C for long period of time, we may suffer from a disease called “scurvy”. On the other hand eating balanced diet food does not guarantee of healthy body. Our body also needs to be fit, physically and mentally. For that exercise and meditation is equally essential as balanced diet. Nowadays, people live sedentary life and consuming balanced diet only does not make them healthy. Similarly, long working hours in an office and different socio-economic factors make our life stressful which can degrade our mental health. In the developed countries, such as the United States, people eat balanced diet food, but due to sedentary life styles and stressful conditions, many people are obese and also we hear lots of news of suicide. In conclusion, although balanced diet is a vital thing for a healthy life, there are also other things which are needed to make our life healthy. So, we should also consider for exercise and meditation, besides balanced diet, for the healthy life.
