Japanese traditional clothes are "Kimono" Both women and men wear kimono, sometimes men wear hakama. We don't wear traditional clothes on an ordinary day. We wear it when we turn 3 and a half and 7 years old. This event is called "七五三（shichigosan)" and celebrates children reaching those ages. But boys celebrate it when they turn 3 and 7 only. I don't know why. Also we celebrate our age and wear kimono when we turn 20 years old. Some people wear hakama or suits.
