Some people are an only child, and it can be overwhelming to assist their parents who are paralyzed. Being an only child means that there are no siblings who can share in helping their parents. Often, an only child will need to work to support themselves or their own family, so they might not have enough time to look after their parents. In other words, an only child might have no way to solve this problem and might have to choose to send their parents to nursing homes.
