I saw 1 level book for kids. It means very very low level.
After learning the body words, kids read the 3 sentences.
The 3 sentences are below,
These are my hands and toes.
They all have fingers.
I have 20 fingers.
As a person who learn English, the sentences made me confused.
I understand that it means 20, fingers and toes combined.
but all fingers are 20???
Then do I tell the 1 level kids that the toes can be the fingers and the fingers can be the toes?
The 1 level kids have already seen the picture and learned that toes are toes....
It is so hard to write in English. Do you know what I mean?
There are my hands and feet.
They have fingers and toes.
I have 20 _________??? <<-- I don't know~~~~~~~~

In have 8 fingers, 2 thumbs, and 10 toes. That adds up to 20.. er... 20 ..um...Ah! 20 finger-thumb-cum-toe-things!
Actually the answer is DIGITS. But the kiddies aren't to know that. I agree with the others - ditch the book!

I agree with you and Claire. You probably shouldn't use that book.

I agree with you. It's strange.
10 fingers.
10 toes.
20 fingers and toes.
In English, fingers are on our hands and toes are on our feet. We have two different words for these.
