At the beginning of August, my university dance group have an event. I had planned to participate one or two genres, but I participated in four. I'm excited for this event, but I don't know if I can pull it off.

Your text is absolutely correct, so this is not exactly a correction, but I just wanted to point out that "group have" is more of a British expression ("group" is considered a collective noun), and "group has" is more typical for American English. Good job!
