This is always a hotly debated topic in English. You CAN start a sentence with conjunctions as long as the sentence is not a fragment. meaning you need to write a complete sentence. In informal spoken language you may often hear conversations like 'Who did you go with? 'With my dad.' How did you get there? 'By car', However, in written English you could not write this and would have to change how you worded it, to something like 'I went with my dad'. We went by car. Some examples of full sentences starting with the conjunctions 'with' and 'by' With that in mind, we can see... With all due respect, I think you are wrong. By asking lots of questions, we will soon get to the bottom of this. By providing her with the right information, she was easily able to complete the task. Can you see what all the sentences have in common? A comma! This magic comma will allow you to write a sentence starting with conjunctions!
