Questions about 'being busy' in Chinese I am looking at being busy and busily doing something and I have a few questions please. First；as a verb is there a difference between 忙 and 忙碌? Second; as an adjective is there a difference between 忙 and 繁忙? Lastly I have written some sentences using, busy, busy with and busily, please can you correct them. I am busy studying-我在忙着学习 I am busy with my studies 我忙于学习 I'm busily studying-我在忙碌地学习。。。Must I include an object here？ie，我在忙碌地学习中文 Recently I'm busy studying-最近我学习很忙Recently I'm busy studying-最近我学习很忙, I think I could also say like. I'm up to my ears in study recently?

学习很忙 = I'm studying and I'm busy. It doesn't necessarily connect the two. 学习得很忙 = I'm busy with my studies. The two are connected by the 得. 学习得 is an adverb that modifies 很忙. The nearest English I can find to that is "I'm busy with my studies." 得 = structural particle: used after a verb (or adjective as main verb), linking it to following phrase indicating effect, degree, possibility etc

Generally speaking, 忙 is used in both daily speech and writing, while 忙碌 is usually used in only writing. According to currently prevalent Chinese grammar, both of them are adjectives, rather than adverbs. In Chinese a single adjective often act in different sentences as attribute，predicate or adverbial: 贝丝是个大忙人 || 贝丝很忙 || 看到报纸烧着了，贝丝忙把一杯水浇在火苗上。To serve as an attribute, the use of 忙 is very limited. It appears only in some quite fixed expresions such as 忙人，忙音，忙月. From another point of view, we would rather say 忙 cannot be used as an attribute. .......... 忙着... 忙忙碌碌
