Usage of this Idiom "Bored to death" in context
Hi, let me ask you some questions.
This idiom; "Bored to death" is commonly used as colloquial expression in everyday conversation or it rarely used among native speakers as an old-fashioned idiom?
Here are my best efforts of the usage of "bored to death" at these sentences.
it makes sense to you?
Here goes..
#1: My dogs hate it when it's raining and they can't go outside. It bored my dogs to death.
#2 : It's been raining on and off since yesterday. My dogs seems bored to death at home.
Or, do you think I am a dork when I use this idiom in everyday conversation?

Yeah, it's a current expression. There was a great TV series called "Bored to Death" a few years ago. You can also hear people underline boredom and frustration by saying " I wanted to shoot myself", "blow my brains out" or "hang myself". Talk about morbid idioms! And like Conner said, the second one is way better, you want to use it in a form of being bored (I was, I am bored) and you can also say that a person "bored you to death" but I hope you won't need to use that one too much. Another similar idioms are "bored out of my mind" or "out of my skull".
