Quali sono alcune espressioni colloquiali utili in italiano? I am an English speaker who will be visiting Italy soon and attending a language school. I'm hoping to meet other people around my age there (early 20s). What are some useful expressions that young Italians use in casual conversation? I'm looking for equivalents to things I would say in English, like 'cool,' 'dude,' 'what's up,' 'oh my gosh,' etc., but also things I may not use which are common in Italy. Thanks for your help!

The most common sentences used from italian young people are: cool - "figo" dude - "amico" (more friendly) or "tipo" (when you're speaking about an unknown person) what's up - "come va?" (more simply) or "com'é?" oh my gosh - "oddio" (that's like Oh God) or "ma dai!" (when you're not believing to something, it's like "really???") Then you have to know that in Italy every region has its specific dialet and "culture" so it's possible that the same thing could be meant in different way. It depends if you'll come in the North or South of Italy. But generally you can always say: "ci vediamo" that's like "see you" "é una figata" referring to something really cool (event, pub, disco... ecc.) "sei fuori" means "you're crazy" "butta male" means "there is not a good situation" "devastante" is used when something is great (positive and negative both)
