Hi George! Nice choice of language. Icelandic is pure and beautiful. I have found it very difficult to find Icelanders to talk with. I even went to Iceland to find people to make friends with, but that was difficult too. This may discourage you, but this is how it is. By the way, "Hei" is not Icelandic. You could say "Hæ" though. :-)
