These days/nowadays/at the present time/in this day and age. These days we eat a lot of junk food. After referring to a time in the past we could say, "... in those days we ate more home cooked food." These days we do this/in those days we did that.

"These days" means at the present time, and indicates that the statement may not have been true in the past.
