For young people, you can start maybe with some tv show in french with subtitles : it will help them to be use to the language. A advice that I give to my student, is to write a diary : every evening, write 3-5 sentences about your days in French. Like that you will learn the basic vocabulary arround your life quickly. There is different possibility for learn : - the kid already know some french : so he has to practice the speaking with a teacher. The teacher have to teach him new stuff and correct him during the class, and also give exercices. - if the kid know nothing, you have many possibilities : - learn the basic with a teacher - follow a book - practice on internet with website like babel, duolingo, etc For young people, you have to find a funny way to learn, it is working with a teacher (if the kid feel good with) or by the website (it is more dynamic).
