When to use ''to me'' and ''for me'' ? What is the difference in these sentences: - To me you are gorgeous; and - For me you are gorgeous?

"for me", and "to me", both mean "in my opinion"; however, "to me" sounds more intimate and personal and "for me" sounds more intellectual. "to me" feels a bit more natural in your example.

'To me' and 'for me' can be difficult, and are generally used by each other. I have seen many debates about this, but I like to see this as the correct way to see it; "for me" ~ what society expects(an imposition from outside) and/or your own feelings "to me" ~ what you want/your opinion "You are gorgeous to me/to me you are gorgeous" More personal, it is solely your opinion "You are gorgeous for me/for me you are gorgeous" More general, not as personal

Hey, Diana! When I say "to me you are gorgeous", it's my personal opinion. When I say "For me you are gorgeous", it's like you are gorgeous for me. So that would mean that you take care of yourself, put on make up and wear nice clothes (for example) just to please me. There is nothing in it for you, you're just doing it for me. Hope this helped.
