Question about nationalities/professions I see the word "Deutsche" can be used to indicate either a male or a female German, right? What are the other nationalities/professions/etc. where this occurs? I mean, where there is no change for masculine and feminine nouns? Vielen Dank!

i agree with both domasla and Hesham_Sallam. At the same time I think that you have a point here. You can both say 'der Deutsche' and 'die Deutsche', but in my eyes this is an exception from the basic rule that you have to learn male/female forms. The reason behind this exception is that, funny enough, there is no real word for a 'German', may that be male od female, in the German language. Most (if not all) other countries and their inhabitants have a corresponding identifier in the German language (like 'Brasilianer/Brasilianerin, Franzose/Französin, Engländer/Engländerin). Note that there is no word like 'Deutschländer' or 'Germane' in the German language to identify an inhabitant of Germany. Instead you just take the adjective ('der deutsche [Mann]', 'die deutsche [Frau]') and make it a noun: 'der Deutsche' / 'die Deutsche'. You'll notice that adjectives with definite article have the same ending in nominative in German, the gender does not matter: 'die dunkle Nacht', 'der dunkle Anzug'. So, if you want a basic rule, it might be: Whenever you have an adjective transformed to a noun, you'll have the same word for male and female (and in fact for neuter, too). Examples: Der Weise / Die Weise Der Dumme / Die Dumme But: Once you start declining, you'll have to learn the forms again... 'der Deutsche', 'des Deutschen', 'dem Deutschen', 'den Deutschen' vs. 'die Deutsche', 'der Deutschen', 'der Deutschen', 'die Deutsche' etcetc ;-)

Vorsicht, (ausgerechnet) "Deutscher" ist ein Fehler: Attention, just "Deutscher" is a mistake: Deutschland (DAS Land) DIE Bundesrepublik Deutschland (DIE Republik) DER Deutsche - DIE Deutsche - DIE (/alle) Deutschen EIN Deutscher - EINE Deutsche Deutsch - die deutsche Sprache (DIE Sprache)("deutsch" als Adjektiv/Eigenschaft) I'm afraid you have to learn all the countries of your interest and their flexion. Don't hesitate to ask us. Ich glaube (/befürchte), dass du alle Länder, die dich interessieren und ihre Flexionen lernen musst. Frag(e) uns einfach! Brasilien: DER/EIN Brasilianer - DIE/EINE Brasilianerin (Brasilianisch - adj.: brasilianisch) Portugal: DER/EIN Portugiese - DIE/EINE Portugiesin (Portugiesisch - adj.: portugiesisch)

Deutsche is for a female not a male " Which take the Article 'die'" e.g. Deutsche Welle , Deutsche Mädchen 'Girl' , in Male case Deutscher Mann " Man" ,.. USW. " Und so weiter= So on Let's see some Beispiele = Examples about the nationalities:- Subject, Land // Subject , Einwohner" Resident // Adjective , Nationality Afghanistan Der Afghane Afghanisch Ägypten Der Ägypter Ägyptisch Albanien Der Albaner Albanisch Deutschland Der Deustcher Deutsch Frankreich Der Franzose französisch So "e" put at the end in female case , and " er" in Male case, Vielen Dank " Thank you" ^_^
