How does one respond to a french letter of invitation?
I received an email (in French) inviting me to attend a symposium. Nothing fancy. In the email I was given two options to choose from with regard to the date and time. I find that formal french letters are quite grandiloquent and I worry that my response might sound...dispassionate. I'm a woman of few words, preferring to be direct to the point. Would this letter be sufficient enough or should I bring out the flowers and rainbows?

Madame, Monsieur,

Je vous remercie de votre correspondance. Je vous confirme ma venue ce lundi 28 Septembre à 10h30 en vos locaux.

Pour ma part, j'aurais d'abord remercier "d'avoir été convié à cet événement". Puis comme tu l'as bien fait confirmer la date et l'heure de ta participation.
Pour la phrase de fin, tu peux également dire, "Au plaisir de vous rencontrer, bien cordialement" Mais, c'est selon tes préférences. Dans l'ensemble ce que tu as écrit n'a rien de choquant ou déplacé, tu peux envoyer ton texte tel quel sans t'inquiéter de faire mauvaise figure.
