A discount is a price reduction.
It's often expressed as a percentage. You can get a discount on goods if they're faulty or late, for example, or simply because you're a good customer. If a supplier wants to get rid of some stock quickly, they may decide to sell them at a discount.
A sale is an event.
This often happens at a particular time of year. For example, at the end of the summer or winter season, many retail outlets have sales during which goods are sold at a reduced price. Sales are temporary.
Your phrase 'discounting market' doesn't really make sense. If you bought it at an outdoor/indoor market, you could say maybe 'a discount stall in a market', or if it's from a shop/store, you could say 'discount store'. These are places which sell goods at discounted prices all year round.
I hope that helps.

A sale is when most of the items in the shop have been marked down, Usually lots of other shops have sales at the same time as in ' Spring Sale' to clear stock to make space for the new Summer Stock.
A discount may be given to people who work in the shop, as part of thier contract.
To customers on certain products they need to clear at that time. A discount may be given on certain days of the week when they are not busy for instance 'to people over a certain age say 65, this would usually be a hairdresser. Your sentence would be `I bought my t-shirt in a sale` The lady at the hairdressers would say `I get a discount because of my age and if I have my hair done on a Tuesday.

A sale can be considered as a markdown. A markdown is a devaluation of a product based upon its inability to be sold at the original planned selling price whereas discount can be given to a customer by the shopkeeper on any item as per consideration. Both are the deduction of original planned sale price. Usual cost is deduced
