Hola Criss! En primer lugar, debes tener en cuenta que ambas palabras podrían ser traducidas a una sola en español: CUIDAR. Así mismo, cabe destacar que la diferencia entre el uso de una expresión u otra es sutil, y ambas son sinónimos. “Take care of” es cuidar connotando vigilar con atención, responsabilizarse por/de o atender a algo o alguien. Ejemplos: Could you please take care of my child while I’m away? ¿Podrías encargarte/vigilar/atender a mi hijo durante mi ausencia? “Look after” es cuidar pero su uso va más hacia ocuparse de o velar por algo o alguien. Could you please look after my child while I’m away? ¿Podrías ocuparte/velar por mi hijo durante mi ausencia? Como podrás haber apreciado, no es significativa la diferencia y para realmente diferenciarles, tendríamos que igualmente diferenciar sus significados en español: encargarse vs ocuparse o responsabilizarse vs velar. Hola Criss! La verdad es que hay muy poca diferencia entre los dos cuando consideramos su uso. Miramos unos ejemplos: In a bar or restaurant - Can you look after/take care of my bag for me while I go to the toilets? (me cuidas el bolsillo?) To a friend before going on holiday - Would you look after/take care of my house for me while I'm away? (este podría significar entrar de vez en cuando para que parezca que hay movimiento en la casa) A businessperson - "We must look after/take care of our customers" (tenemos que cuidar a nuestros clientes para que vuelvan a comprar) Hope this helps!
