It does, but it's never used. If you were to use this word, you would be met with some very blank looks. Many native speakers would probably not understand what you meant, and those who did would presume that you were making a learner's mistake and getting a word wrong. You can forget this word.

Yes, “forenoon” means late morning (maybe around 9, 10, or 11 a.m.). It’s a perfectly good English word, although it’s almost never used nowadays (at least in American English). In German, the literal equivalent, “Vormittag,” is relatively common, although the general word for morning is the cognate "Morgen." Am I right in assuming 上午 is frequent in Chinese?

Hi Ann, Yes, "forenoon" does mean "the period of daylight before noon" according to Dictionary.com. However (at least in American English), it's never used. We always say "before noon" if we're talking about late morning. I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you have other questions.
