Help me to understand this sentence "seemingly moribund research establishment"
The complete sentence is "He demonstrated the great potential for dynamism and innovation that existed in seemingly moribund research establishment"
I cant understand this part of sentence 'seemingly moribund research establishment'
Can anyone help me to understand it.
Thanks
"Seemingly moribund research establishment" is just a very ... how shall we say... verbose way of saying "it looks like working in a research field/facility with no prospect". The entire sentence simply means:"he demonstrated great potential and enthusiasm working at a research field/facility that has no prospects."
I can't tell if the author is trying to be sarcastic or something...
