Hallo zusammen!
Betrachten Sie die folgende Definition : "Als Werkstoff bezeichnet man jedes Material, aus dem sich durch spanende und/oder spanlose Be- und Verarbeitung Halbzeuge oder Fertigerzeugnisse herstellen lassen, die technisch verwertbare Eigenschaften besitzen."
Ich habe zwar 2 Fragen dazu.
1) Wo besteht der Unterschied zwischen Be- und Verarbeitung? Die sind ja zwei voneinander unterschiedliche Prozesse.
2) Was sind Halbzeuge bzw. Fertigerzeugnisse?

Fertigerzeugnisse - the finished products
Halbzeuge - usually metal in the form of sheets (of steel or tin), coils of wire or rods, so it's literally half-finished. It's the material you need in order to make the final product

Verarbeitung: The piece of wood is being processed as a whole.
