Technically okay but sounds kind of awkward. Try replacing "cover or quilt" with blanket, just quilt, or something like that. I don't often hear people using cover as a noun, it's usually a verb.

" I HAVE a cold because I didn't cover myself well yesterday. I didn't use a cover or quilt to cover myself adequately. Maybe it fell off."
