Look how... (the Present Simple or the Present Continuous) Do I need to use the Present Simple or the Present Continuous in the following type of sentences? Look how the boy is sliding down! Or Look how the boy slides down! For example, a boy is sliding down the slide on his tummy (not sitting on the bottom). I want to draw someone's attention to him. Look how the girl is drinking the water from the bottle! Or Look how the girl drinks the water from the bottle! The girl is drinking the water at the moment of speaking. I want to draw someone's attention to her. For example, I feel that she might spill the water. Look how he is playing with a ball! Or Look how he plays with a ball! Somebody is playing with a ball at the moment of speaking. I want to draw someone's attention to him. Thank you for your help!

Look at / see how he is sliding [during a specific instance of sliding] Look at / see how he slides [generally, look at at least a few instances - draw a general conclusion] I would probably make a spontaneous question e.g. Look at that boy - can you see how he is sliding?

Without giving answers to each question, continuous is used for something that is happening now. A common mistake when asked about hobbies, is to say, "I'm playing football" when it should be "I play football"
