Are 1 and 2 correct? If not, should I say 1a and 2a? 1. If I had seen the movie, I would have told you all about it now. 2. If Paul had received six more votes in the last election, he would have been Prime Minister now. 1a. I would have told you all about the movie now if I had seen it. 2a. Paul would have been Prime Minister now if he had received six more votes in the last election. Hi. I'd like to know if 1 and 2 are correct? If not, should I say 1a and 2a? Thank you for any help!I have read a grammar book in which I've found this example sentence that is considered correct. If we had read the instructions more carefully we would have known what to do now.

We have to say "by now" for our sentence to be correct in the 3rd conditional. If we just say "now," we need the second conditional in the then-clause: "... we would know what to do now."
