"to handle dinner" Hi guys. I have a question from the Family Guy cartoon. - Peter Griffin: Finally. Some of us have been waiting all evening for a certain wife to come home and feed her starving family. - Lois: Peter, I told you I was gonna be late. Couldn't you have handled dinner? I would want to get more deep what you mean when say something like "to handle dinner". Should Peter have MADE dinner (i.e. cooking) or just have put something into microwave oven to get it hot or something else? This verb, "handle" has lots of meanings in Russian (and I think in other languages) so I am not sure here. Thank you in advance.

Same in English, maybe. "handle" means "take care of", "see through" it does not specify how. . A: There's a fuss on the factory floor. B: handle it, I'm busy. B is delegating the choice of method to A.
