How to say "poise" in Italian? Sorry, this could be too hard to explain in Italian and English as well. In my last post I was trying to found a proper translation to the English word "poise" in Italian. "Tenere sollevato" is one of many that I found in my dictionaries. I know "poise" the word is one of the characters defined by my Oxford Dictionary of Art and artists which reflects to Mannerism art in 17th century. But in my mind the Italian translation of it would not be "equilibirio", this kind of balance is like capture someone on the move in a photo, only in a split of second he may look still.
