Fachschule - Schools for professional development (skilled manual jobs) with a lot of praxis.
Fachhochschule - University of Applied Sciences (UAS) is a German tertiary education institution, specializing in topical areas (e.g. engineering, technology or business). 
Universitaet - Provides a broader education than Fachhochschule and has many more subjects (especially humanities).
