スル-verb + の + 名詞 (e.g. ご希望の方) I came across this sentence while reading a text about traveling: 旅行や観光をご希望の方々への情報 the meaning is understandable but the construction is quite unusual. Could someone please explain it to me? Would it be just a more polite version of "旅行や観光を希望している人々"? If so, are the sentences below correct? 大統領に反対の方々が多い = 大統領に反対している人がは多い 日本語を勉強の方々へのアドバイス = 日本語を勉強している人々へのアドバイス

ご希望の方々 ≒ 希望している人々 ← okay ご希望の方々 is a more polite version of "希望している人々". Here is a discussion about "ご希望" on another site in Japanese. https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q11140438021 But, it's 謙遜語 related discussion, it's too difficult for beginners, so you don't have to read it. ご希望の方々 people who want to do something ご希望の商品 a product which you want to buy 反対の方々 ≒ 反対している人々 ← okay *人がは多い(wrong) →人が多い/人は多い(correct) 反対の方々 people who against something 反対の方向 an opposite direction 勉強中の方々 ≒ 勉強している方々 ≒ 勉強している人々 ← okay 勉強の方々 ← sounds strang, NG 勉強中の方々 people who are studying something 勉強の方法 ≒ 勉強方法 a way to study
