Damien, This is your third year of Chinese. Look through the list of words for HSK. If you are really just starting, after 3 years, check out the first level HSK, about 800 characters gives you about 1200 words. Google hsk will get you online lists for each level & aids. While the lists seem long, once you get the other parts of speech separated out, there are not so many new verbs. Hope this helps.

想 think； 摸touch； 敲click； 闻smell； 跳jump； 跑run； 抓scratch 刷 paint；摘pick‘；吸suck 。。。

走=to go or walk 看=to see or have a look 开车=drive 用=use 踢足球=playing football(soccer) 打篮球=playing basketball 问=to ask
