Since I was young, I’d watch a lot of TV shows. — I personally think ‘When I was young’ sounds more natural here but I am just wondering if my intended meaning would be clearer if I say like this. (In my native language, those are pretty much interchangeable but the first one sounds like putting more emphasis on duration of action. On the other hand, the later sounds more focusing on the period of time. What I wanted to imply in that sentence is that I started to watch a lot of TV programmes when I was young, then I watched them a lot when I was young, but I don’t watch them anymore. —there are couple of sentences that I would say in this case. (I) When I was young, I used to watch a lot of TV programmes. (2) Since I was young, I used to watch a lot of TV programmes (Does it work?) (3) Since I was young, I’d watch a lot of TV programmes (4) Since when I was young, I had watched a lot of TV programmes Maybe this is not too much about the topic, but I just don’t want to make this post too long :-) 😊
