Today, I'll share my opinion on language learning with you. I believe you might have had similar experiences to mine.
I think that language learning can be a daunting task. Just consider the fact that we effortlessly use our mother tongue to express ourselves, without any conscious effort. In contrast, when we learn a "foreign" language, such as English in my case, we are usually taught to memorize words in relation to our mother tongue. This results in our brain translating the words we want to say from our mother tongue to the target language, making the process slow and frustrating. However, this does not mean we are incapable of learning a new language; the problem lies in the method we use.
Languages are a means to communicate our ideas and needs. Even though different languages may sound different, they can convey the same meaning. Therefore, a language should never be seen as "foreign" because it has the potential to become a part of our identity.
In my opinion, the best way to learn a language is by listening, associating words with objects or actions, repeating, getting corrected, and writing if necessary. This may be a challenging process, but it's possible to move away from translating from and to our mother tongue. Writing this text is one of the steps I'm taking towards achieving this goal.
I hope you found this text helpful and that you can relate to some of the experiences I've shared.
