Hallo! Ek is Maronel. I was born and raised in South Africa, growing up on a beautiful citrus farm in a small Eastern Cape community. Having lived in three different provinces, I have a deep love for the diverse rhythms of Afrikaans. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Linguistics and an Honours in Psychology, I don't just teach a language—I understand the science behind how we learn. Whether you are starting with 'Hoe gaan dit?' or diving into deeper conversations, I’m here to bridge the gap with patience, cultural insight, and a passion for my roots. I really enjoyed our Afrikaans lesson. Maronel prepared a few roleplaying exercises and provided feedback, and then we did a reading comprehension exercise. Maronel was friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout the lesson. I'm feeling more confident about my ability to hold conversations in Afrikaans and look forward to more lessons!

Maronel is the best! Each lesson is tailored toward my progress. She is patient and fun. The lessons are a personalized mix of grammar and sentence structure, but also fun things like reading or role-playing so it never gets boring or overwhelming. Highly recommend!
