I totally understand the difficulties someone may face when learning a new language, since I've practiced learning different languages. I understand first steps are hard to take and sometimes it might feel embarrassing, but we all learn by our mistakes so there is no reason to worry or feel anxious about it. I have also experienced myself the dreaded language learning plateau, where you seem to not be able to advance in the language. I know the secret is to just keep with your efforts and don't get disappointed. Language is not something you learn by studying only, but with experiencing the culture and connecting with other people.

I have studied in the Department of Primary Education of the University of Ioannina. Then I got my Masters Degree in Teaching Greek as a Second / Foreign Language from the University of Nicosia and I also received training from UNICEF about teaching Greek to people with multicultural backgrounds. I have also received specialization in Special Education from the Kapodistrian University of Athens and I am a certified life coach from the University of the Aegean.

At my first job in Berlin, I tried to ask for annual vacation days and ended up applying for 22 years of leave instead, managing to crack up even the stricter supervisor with my broken German. Certified teacher with over 15 years teaching experience I have been a professional teacher of Greek Language since 2006 while I was still attending bachelor studies in Greek Philology. I started teaching Greek as a second/foreign language in 2014 working as a volunteer with LGBTQi+ refugee/ migrant communities in Thessaloniki and since then I have been teaching Greek online to adults who live in Greece & abroad. Fast forward, I continued teaching migrants and refugees, both children and adults, through my work in the NGO sector. I am a certified member of the Evaluators of the examinations for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek Language and I hold a Diploma in teaching Greek as a second/foreign language.

Journalist, qualified teacher - I completed the Program Routes by the Center for the Greek Language As a tutor, I'm patient and encouraging yet strict. However, I don't let any rule I have set prevent us from having fun. I have worked as a Greek Second Language Tutor for the last six years after I quit my job as a journalist and a digital editor with magazines and newspapers. Since 2023, I have been back to journalism, yet teaching keeps making me happy. I give Greek lessons to English speakers of B1 level and above.

Personally, I believe the main goal when it comes to language learning is to be able to express yourself and understand the language as much as possible.
