Hello everyone! Naru Sensei here! 🇯🇵✨ My Hokkaido road trip is full of amazing surprises! Today, I want to share some wonderful moments from Furano and Eastern Hokkaido! 🍈🕊️ 1️⃣ Look at this! While driving, I glanced to the side and saw THREE wild Red-Crowned Cranes just walking together! Only in Hokkaido! 🕊️🚗 2️⃣ & 3️⃣ My little monkey friend, "Naru," joined the trip! We found a giant melon statue in Furano and took a walk through a beautiful white birch forest! 🐒🌳 4️⃣ I also visited a gorgeous, colorful flower field in Furano. The blooming flowers and autumn breeze were so refreshing! 🌸🌼 5️⃣ Of course, I had to try a delicious, savory Butadon (pork bowl) for lunch! 🍖😋 Have you ever seen a wild crane or visited flower fields in Japan? Today, I had a part-time job. It was really hard because there were a lot of problems. I can't solve these problems, so I'm really bad mood. But I realized that I have some flaws. I want to do my best. By the way, I decided to go on a trip to Hiroshima with my brother. I'm really excited, so I want to make a schedule because we have so many places that we want to go. For example, we want to eat Okonomiyaki! It is a soul food in Hiroshima. And also, we want to go Onomichi. It is a very beautiful city. There a lot of stray cat because the city supports them to help live safely. And there is a place that is called "Neko no Hosomichi". It is a narrow path in Onomichi. Hello! English tutor Alice here. Here's some information about me. I'd love to know more about you. I have lived in the US my entire life and I've never been overseas. What country do you live in? Have you ever been over seas? I have been to Canada but not since the mid 1990's. I have been to multiple states here in the US. Here's a few of them that I have visited. Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Indiana and California. Some may wonder... Alice... Why have you not traveled overseas before? Well the answer is simple. Actually I have a few answers for this. First of all... the United States is massive. Depending on where you live in a state, it could take anywhere from a few moments to a few hours to just get to the state next to yours. And traveling across country can for some Americans feel worlds different. Cost of traveling. The cost to travel overseas is quite expensive. And the flights last many hours, much longer than a domestic US flight. Many of those flights are what we call 'Red Eye' flights....where the flight is during our over night hours. Which maybe stressful to some. The fastest flight from my hometown airport in Kentucky to London's Heathrow airport is 7 hours and 40 minutes. The fastest flight from my hometown airport in Kentucky to Los Angeles LAX airport is around 5 hours. Some people, like myself do not like flying. I find it incredibly stressful. I have flown a few times before within the US but it's something I get a lot of anxiety about. Plus also factor in the cost of lodging and food when traveling. Cost of transportation when landing. I think for some international students the massive size of the US and the distance between major cities that one would visit is something that is hard to realize. Did you know...even with living in the US my entire life... I have never been to Seattle, Washington DC, New York City, Chicago, Dallas or New Orleans. That's just some major cities that I've never been to.

Day 3 — The Two Ends of a Cantonese Day 早晨 zou2 san4 — good morning. Use it until roughly 11am, and use it for anyone: the neighbour, the security guard, your teacher. 早唞 zou2 tau2 — good night. You say it when someone is heading to bed. A small warning: 晚安 is written Chinese. Cantonese speakers almost never say it out loud — it sounds like a textbook. It seems to me that… A useful way to express an impression without sounding too forceful: It seems to me that she's avoiding the question. 7. I'm inclined to believe that… Suggests that you lean towards a particular conclusion, though you're not completely certain: I'm inclined to believe that he was telling the truth. 8. It strikes me that… Introduces an observation or realisation that has caught your attention: It strikes me that we haven't discussed the most important issue. 9. I think that… A more formal way to state your position: I'm of the opinion that the rules should be changed. 10. My take on this is… An informal way to introduce your interpretation of a situation: My take on this is that both sides are partly responsible. Which of these expressions do you use most often?
