When I reach a plateau in my language learning journey, I like to remind myself that it's normal and not to be discouraged. I also tell myself that I don't have to be learning at the same speed as I did in the past and that as long as I am learning even just one new word a day, I am still making progress. I really enjoy watching dramas and videos in my target language because it keeps me exposed to hearing the language being spoken. I also find it very helpful staying connected with my language partners because it helps keep me motivated.
Encountering plateaus in language learning can be frustrating and discouraging at times but you don't need to let it derail you from continuing your language learning journey.

My introduction to italki actually began 6 years ago but due to the busyness of life, I stopped using it until the start off the pandemic in late 2020 when I found myself stuck at home and nowhere to go.
Prior to being confined at home, I was taking language lessons in-person from a tutor. However, once covid struck, my in-person lessons had abruptly ended. I now had to find an alternate form of language learning. Enter italki.
I re-familiarized myself with the app and immediately found a suitable replacement online for my in-person lessons. I was pleasantly surprised by the ability to find language partners to practice with and also by the abundant list of tutors to choose from. Thanks to italki, I now have native language partners to practice with 7 days a week.
My language experience on italki is one positive thing that has come out of the negative pandemic situation.
I'm so happy and grateful that italki has given me such a great opportunity to learn other languages.
I look forward to my language learning journey.
Happy 15th Anniversary, italki!! 🥰

We should absolutely do every we can do save regional dialects. The diversity of languages is what makes communities unique and vibrant by being able to communicate in their native tongue. How sad it would be if regional dialects began to die out and the next generation was forced to use a globilized language.
There are already a lot of languages that are on the verge of extinction as the number of native speakers begin to dwindle down. Along with the language, we will also lose out on the culture that is tied to the language and that would a tragic loss for the langauge community.
We see this a lot in families that have immigrated to different countries and their children are raised to speak the language of the new country, so the children eventually forgot or don't even learn the native language of their parents.
I think there should be more awareness of the potential threat of languages being lost and more programs available to support and perpetuate the ongoing learning of regional languages.
