I also prepare for high level language exams (C1 Goethe Zertifikat for German and French DALF)

I grew up in Germany and completed my computer science degree there. Therefore, I can help you from not knowing a single word of German up to a very advanced academic level. I use English every day at work and am on a native level (C2+). I also learned Dutch to a conversational level, a bit of Swahili, and am currently learning French (B1) and Spanish (A2).

Speaking is the best way to learn a language, so my lessons usually center around having an actual conversation in German, but I will also give you grammar instructions and help you with pronunciation as and when necessary. If you struggle with any particular grammar topic, we can of course also dedicate a whole lesson to that. Generally I'm happy to adapt myself to your needs and preferences. While we talk, I make extensive notes in a google document, I write down new vocabulary with example sentences, grammar instructions, corrections, etc. You'll have access to this document during and after the classes.

I pay strong attention to teaching only useful words and sentence fragments that you can use in order to start speaking immediately. Only a minimum of grammar, we focus on speaking and using materials that you enjoy so that we can keep your motivation high! As a language learner myself, I understand the many frustrations that come with learning a new language.
