Hi everyone, I'm Kent! I’m a CELTA-certified native English teacher from New Zealand, currently living in France. With a BA in Linguistics and German, I’ve been helping italki students achieve their goals since 2017.
My conversation-based lessons are tailored to your needs. Whether you want to improve your general fluency, prep for IELTS, master grammar, or specifically learn about the Kiwi accent and culture, I can help! As a fellow language learner, I know how to make classes engaging.
I provide a shared Google Sheet to track your errors during class. We review them together at the end with clear explanations.

I have a Bachelor's degree majoring in Linguistics and German and I'm also a CELTA (Cambridge English Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualified teacher.
I started teaching English two and a half years ago while living abroad in France, while there I mainly taught adults and teenagers. I have been a Community Tutor here on Italki since November 2017 and have helped hundreds of students achieve their English language goals. My lessons & teaching style
★ Google Sheet document ★ - I provide each student with a Google Sheet document, accessible to you at any time. I will use this document to note down errors during the lesson. At the end of the lesson, we will go over your mistakes together and I will provide you with explanations to help clarify the errors you made.
My lessons are tailored specifically with your goals in mind, whether it be improving your spoken fluency, pronunciation, exams e.g. IELTS or grammar. I'm flexible and I'm more than happy to adapt to my student's needs. I have found conversation based lessons to be the most effective for my students. We can discuss any topic but preferably something that you are interested in.My teaching material
