こんにちは。日本では毎年（まいとし）「大河（たいが）ドラマ」と呼ばれる、1年間かけてテレビで放送（ほうそう）される歴史（れきし）ドラマ、別の言い方をすると時代劇（じだいげき）ドラマが、NHKという放送局（ほうそうきょく）から放送されています。このドラマは多くの人たちから略（りゃく）して「大河」、とも呼ばれています。

今年、2022年の1月から12月まで放送される「大河ドラマ」のタイトルは、『鎌倉殿（かまくらどの）の13人』です。日本の歴史、つまり日本史（にほんし）の鎌倉時代（じだい）の誕生（たんじょう）を描くドラマです。

日本の鎌倉時代、初めて（はじめて）武士（ぶし）、侍（さむらい）の政権（せいけん）を作った将軍（しょうぐん）＝鎌倉にいる将軍なので「鎌倉殿」と呼ばれます…源頼朝（みなもとよりとも）と、彼を支持（しじ）して協力（きょうりょく）し、やがて互いに（たがいに）争った（あらそった）13人の武士が登場します。

皆さんの国の歴史の教科書（きょうかしょ）にも、源頼朝は「日本で初めて武士の政権を作った人」、その後（あと）…その後（ご）とも読みます…。「その後、日本は武士が支配（しはい）する国になりました」、と書いてあるのではないでしょうか。

私がこのポッドキャストを話した時期（じき）、ドラマ『鎌倉殿の13人』には大きな展開（てんかい）がありました。そう、武士たちのリーダー、源頼朝が死んでしまったのです。

さて、源頼朝には北条政子（ほうじょうまさこ）という妻（つま）、奥（おく）さんがいました。さて、源頼朝やその兄弟（きょうだい）、その子供（こども）たちまで死（し）んでしまうと、武士たちはリーダーがいなくなって動揺（どうよう）します。それをチャンスと見た天皇（てんのう）たちは政権を奪い返そう（うばいかえそう）と動き、侍たちはこれからどうしたらいいのか迷い（まよい）ました。

その時に武士たちを叱咤激励（しったげきれい）、叱咤激励とは叱る（しかる）と同時（どうじ）に励ます（はげます）事です…、一致団結（いっちだんけつ）して、…一致団結とは目的（もくてき）のために、皆（みな）の意見（いけん）を一つにして一緒（いっしょ）になって行動することです…、武士の政権を守りましょうと呼（よ）びかけたのが、北条政子です。

彼女（かのじょ）の行動（こうどう）がその後、江戸（えど）時代が終わる（おわる）まで続く（つづく）、武士が日本を支配する社会（しゃかい）を作ったのです。北条政子は日本の歴史を動かした女性（じょせい）の1人として、有名（ゆうめい）な人物（じんぶつ)です。

こういった日本の歴史を動かした人々を、喜劇（きげき）＝コメディのお芝居（しばい）やドラマ、映画の演出家（えんしゅつか）として有名な三谷幸喜（みたにこうき）が、脚本（きゃくほん）を書いた（かいた）大河ドラマが『鎌倉殿の13人』です。

この大河ドラマは、日本の歴史を動かした有名な人物（じんぶつ）を新しい視点（してん）でコミカルに、現代的（げんだいてき）な解釈（かいしゃく）で描いた作品として、歴史ファン以外（いがい）の人も話題（わだい）にする作品になりました。

源頼朝も北条政子も共（とも）に面白い（おもしろい）エピソードを沢山（たくさん）持つ（もつ）人物です。歴史の教科書に載る（のる）有名な人たちの、人間的（にんげんてき）な姿が『鎌倉殿の13人』に描かれています。

テレビドラマや映画、アニメに描かれた物語（ものがたり）を題材（だいざい）にして、あなたが興味（きょうみ）を持った日本の文化（ぶんか）や歴史について話しませんか？それでは、さようなら。
