★☆Korean Words for Snacks #1★☆ ▶간식 ▷n) a light meal, a snack -오후 4시쯤 배가 조금 고파서 간식을 먹었어요. I had some snacks at 4:00 p.m. because I was a bit hungry. -저는 늘 아침에 간식을 먹어요. I always have snacks in the morning. ▶과자 ▷n) a snack (chips, crips, etc.) -아이들만 과자를 좋아하는 것은 아니에요. Kids aren’t the only ones who like crisps. -도리토스는 제가 가장 좋아하는 과자예요. Doritos is my favorite snack. ▶껌 ▷n) a chewing gum -수업 시간에는 껌을 씹으면 안 됩니다. You are not allowed to chew gum in class. -그 아이는 껌을 씹다가 질식사하였습니다. The kid died choking on chewing gum ▶떡 ▷n) Korean rice cake/pancake -한국에서는 명절이나 잔칫날에 떡을 먹어요. Koreans eat rice cakes on holidays or feast days. -떡을 많이 먹어서 배가 불러요. I’m full now because I had a lot of rice cakes. ▶만두 ▷n) a dumpling -여기요, 고기만두 1인분만 주세요. Can I get one serving of meat dumplings, please? -리투아니아 만두가 한국 만두랑 비슷해요. Lithuanian dumplings are similar to Korean ones. ▶빵 ▷n) bread -저는 아침에 보통 빵을 먹어요. I generally eat bread in the morning -하루에 빵 한 조각만 소화할 수 있어요. I can only digest one slice of bread a day. ▶사탕 ▷n) candy -사탕을 너무 많이 먹으면 이가 나빠질 거예요. If you eat too much candy, you will get cavities. -사탕보다 아이스크림이 더 좋아요. I prefer ice cream to candy.
