Es admirable el manejo del español al que ha llegado luego de sus vivencias y viajes en los diferentes países de Latinoamérica junto con su profundo deseo por perfeccionar todo cuanto sabe. Indudablemente, está muy próxima la conquista de tecnicismos castellanos propios de su área de desarrollo profesional.

    Good question. In this sentence, sputter means that the conversations are not going very well. They are struggling to proceed. It could be that there are many interruptions, pauses, stops, etc. Conversations frequently sputter before they die. I hope this helps! :)

    Good question. In the U.S., they both generally mean the same thing. I think it is a bit more common to see entrée than main course in the U.S.

    These verbs are similar because they both relate to a repeating sound. The main difference is that to throb usually occurs with a regular rhythm, whereas to pound does not need to be rhythmic. For example: "After the race finally ended, he could feel his heart throbbing like never before." "She pounded on his door for twenty minutes, but he wouldn't answer." I hope this helps.
