《平凡的世界》节选

次の晩も ゴーシュは 夜通しセロを弾いて、明方 近く 思わずつかれて楽譜を もったまま うとうとしていますと、また誰か とを こつこつと叩くものがあります。
それもまるで聞えるか聞えないかの位でしたが、毎晩のことなので ゴーシュはすぐ聞きつけて
 「おはいり。」
といいました。すると戸のすきまから はいって来たのは 一ぴきの野ねずみでした。
そして大へん小さなこどもをつれて ちょろちょろとゴーシュの前へ歩いてきました。
そのまた野ねずみのこどもときたら、まるでけしごむのくらいしかないので 
ゴーシュはおもわずわらいました。
すると野ねずみは何をわらわれたろう というように、きょろきょろしながらゴーシュの前に来て、
青い栗くりの実を一つぶ前において ちゃんとおじぎをしていいました。
 「先生、このこが あんばいがわるくて 死にそうでございますが、先生お慈悲に なおしてやってください 
    まし。」
 「おれが医者などやれるもんか。」
ゴーシュはすこしむっとしていいました。
すると野ねずみのお母さんは 下を向いて しばらくだまっていましたが
また思い切ったようにいいました。
  「先生、それはうそでございます、先生は 毎日あんなに上手に みんなの病気を なおしておいでになる
    ではありませんか。」
  「何のことだかわからんね。」
  「だって先生、先生のおかげで、兎うさぎさんのおばあさんもなおりましたし、狸さんのお父さんもな 
     おりましたし、あんな意地悪のみみずくまで なおしていただいたのに、この子ばかりお助けをいただ 
     けないとは あんまり情ないことでございます。」
  「おいおい、それは何かの間ちがいだよ。おれはみみずくの病気なんど なおしてやったことはないから 
     な。もっとも狸の子は ゆうべ来て 楽隊のまねをして行ったがね。ははん。」
ゴーシュは呆れて その子ねずみを見おろしてわらいました。
すると野鼠のねずみのお母さんは泣きだしてしまいました。
  「ああこのこは どうせ病気になるなら もっと早くなればよかった。
   さっきまであれ位ごうごうと鳴らしておいでになったのに、病気になるといっしょに ぴたっと音がとま 
    って もうあとはいくらおねがいしても 鳴らしてくださらないなんて。
    何てふしあわせな子どもだろう。」
ゴーシュはびっくりして叫びました。
 「何だと、ぼくがセロを弾けば みみずくや 兎の病気がなおると。どういうわけだ。それは。」
野ねずみは眼めを片手で こすりこすり いいました。
 「はい、ここらのものは 病気になると みんな先生のおうちの床下にはいって なおすのでございます。」
 「すると療るのか。」
 「はい。からだ中とても血のまわりがよくなって 大へんいい気持ちで すぐ療る方もあれば、うちへ帰っ 
    てから療る方もあります。」
 「ああそうか。おれのセロの音がごうごうひびくと、それが あんまの代りになって おまえたちの病気が 
    なおるというのか。よし。わかったよ。やってやろう。」
ゴーシュはちょっとギウギウと糸を合せて、それからいきなり のねずみのこどもを つまんで セロのあなから中へ入れてしまいました。
