If you search the internet you will discover that workshops are a teaching opportunity that isn't focused on marketing, whereas webinars are built to teach and sell at the same time. A webinar is 'an interactive seminar conducted via the World Wide Web. Usually a live presentation, lecture, or workshop that happens in real-time, as users participate through chatting, video-chatting, file-sharing, or asking questions with a microphone.’

Workshops progress from theory to practice, with a focus on grasping key tools or skills. Masterclasses are specialized classes in which students attain their learning objectives via in-depth practice and thorough guidance.

こんにちは。今日は7月1日月曜日、皆さん、「5分でわかる日本語」ポッドキャストへようこそ。私は日本語の先生、みわです。今日は信号機の色についてお話しします。信号機は、道を安全に歩いたり、安全に車が走るために道にあるものですね。

信号機の色、知ってますか？

信号機の色は青と赤と黄色です！でも、青の信号は実際には緑色に見えますよね？なぜ日本では信号の色を「青」と言うのでしょうか？今日はその理由について詳しくお話しします。

まず、信号機の色について確認しましょう。
信号機には三つの色があります：
	•	赤：止まれ
	•	黄色：注意
	•	青：進め

では、どうして青信号は実際には緑なのに、青信号と呼ぶのでしょうか？実は、これは日本語の歴史と関係があります。

昔の日本語では、「青」という言葉は今より広い意味を持っていました。青という言葉は、今の「青」と「緑」の両方の意味があります。

例えば、「青りんご」という言葉があります。青りんごは実際には緑色ですね。でも、昔から日本語ではこれも「青」と呼んでいます。また、「青菜（あおな）」も緑色の野菜のことをいいます。

さらに、「青々とした木」という表現もあります。変に思えますが、変ではありません。これは、木の葉がとても緑で元気が良いことを意味します。例えば、「青々とした木々が広がる森」という風に使います。このように、緑色のものを「青」と表現することは、昔から日本語でよく見られることです。

ですから、信号機の緑色も「青」と呼ばれるようになったのです。

ここで、皆さんに問題です。なぜ日本では信号の緑を「青」と呼ぶのでしょうか？
	1.	昔の日本語では、青という言葉にも緑の意味が入っていたから
	2.	信号機の色が昔は青だったから
	3.	信号機の色を決める人が間違えたから
正解は「1. 昔の日本語では、青という言葉にも緑の意味が入っていたから」です。
