Clear usage try and + (verb)
Andrew says:
'we try and meet up when we can'
'we try and make excuses to meet up'
Putting try and before a verb means you want to do something, and you make an effort to do it - Andrew and his family make an effort to meet up.
 You may also hear try to + (verb), which means exactly the same thing.

Hěnduō rén shuō " Xièxiè nǐ 。 Wǒmen néng zài jiā lǐ xuéxí hé gōngzuò 。 " Dànshì ， diànnǎo yě bùhǎo ， hěnduō rén shuōhuà shǎo le ， shuìjiào shǎo le ， ---  wǒ bù xiǎng shì nǐmen de Yīyuàn 。

My client Sara joined our meeting very stressed out; frustration etched on her face. Her new team floundered, lacking direction and motivation. Motivated by her success, Sara, once terrified of public speaking, volunteered for an industry conference presentation. Daily clear communication, bolstered by these additional habits, had woven a tapestry of leadership. Sara's transformation, fueled by consistent improvement, was a testament to the power of habit stacking.
